Facebook and Social Media Policies

An important reminder related to Facebook and all social media: It is unacceptable to post information on social media sites about patients and their families, regardless of whether it is on your personal Facebook page or the hospital’s Facebook page. This is a breach of our patient privacy policies and HIPAA laws. You cannot post patient names, diagnosis, photos, circumstances or any PHI (Protected Health Information) that can possibly identify the patient as being treated at our facility. Discipline for any employee who fails to follow these rules will be significant. If you have any questions about our social media policies, please don’t hesitate to ask.
