by John Hill, president and CEO

I’m very pleased to announce the addition of Cynthia Latney, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, to the TMCA/CMPLatney 2x3 leadership team. Cynthia joined our organization as Chief Nursing Officer on November 17, 2010.

Since 2006, Cynthia has been a member of the senior leadership team at Medical City Dallas – a Magnet-designated, 700-bed HCA hospital. Most recently Cynthia has served Medical City as Vice President of Adult Critical Care Services/Nursing Operations, and as Interim CNO. Among Cynthia’s many accomplishments at Medical City Dallas was the instrumental role she played in obtaining HCA’s first Magnet redesignation status in 2009.

Cynthia’s prior roles include serving as Assistant Vice President of Adult Critical Care Service and Nursing Operations at Medical City. Over a period of 18 years, she served in various director positions at the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center at Methodist Hospital in Houston. Cynthia is the 2010 President Elect of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and is board certified as a Nurse Executive (ANCC).

Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and completed a Master’s of Science in Nursing Healthcare Administration at the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology specializing in Healthcare Administration.

Recently, many of you have had the opportunity to meet Cynthia. Your feedback is overwhelmingly positive, further validating that Cynthia will be a wonderful fit for our organization and will serve as a great leader of our nursing staff.

I have no doubt that Cynthia’s experience and strong leadership capabilities will be a great asset to TMCA/CMP. Please join me in welcoming her to our organization and in welcoming her family to the Denver area.
