by Emily Crowley, Marketing Coordinator

The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA) recently received the ACTION Registry-GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award. Get with the Guidelines (GWTG) is a database system through the American Heart Association that gathers quality data for cardiac care. The award recognizes hospitals that have maintained a performance rate of 85 percent or better for two years in the ACTION Registry-GWTG database.

The ACTION Registry–GWTG program empowers health care providers to improve treatment and care by consistently treating heart attack patients according to the most current, science-based guidelines. The Medical Center of Aurora’s ACTION Registry–GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award is indicative of the hospital’s dedication to the care and treatment of cardiac patients.

“We are very proud to be accepting the award. This speaks to the quality care we provide and the hard work our cardiologists and nurses put into continuous quality improvement,” said John Hill, president and CEO of The Medical Center of Aurora.
