The Diabetes Education Program at The Medical Center of Aurora is an outpatient based program for the education of Type I, II and gestational diabetes. The program is awarded Recognition status from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). ADA Recognition assures that the TMCA program offers high-quality self-management education services to patients with diabetes, enabling them to live healthier lives and to minimize life-threatening complications such as kidney disease, stroke, blindness and nerve disease. Reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid is allowed with Recognition status.

Medicare and most other insurance carriers pay for part or all of these classes. Our staff will verify specific coverage and benefits. Please Note: A physician order for Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) is required for class participation, as well as medical nutrition therapy.
