The Medical Center of Aurora Receives "A" from The Leapfrog Group
Aurora, CO, November 29, 2012 - The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA) has received an “A” grade for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, a not-for-profit quality organization. In the results of a report released on November 28th, TMCA received the highest grade awarded for patient safety.
The Leapfrog report grades hospitals across the country on their ability to avoid preventable medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections. The Leapfrog Group provided Hospital Safety Score grades using an "A, B, C, D, or F" scale. Grades were determined by hospitals' performance on 26 measures from the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, CDC, CMS, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the American Hospital Association's Annual Survey.
“Patient safety is our top priority,” said Richard Hammett, TMCA President and CEO. “Our staff and physicians work tirelessly every day to ensure a safe environment and provide the highest quality of care for our patients. The results in this report validate these efforts and we are very proud to offer such high quality health care to our community.”
