The Medical Center of Aurora Hits the Road for Heart Month

Educational campaign travels throughout Aurora and Denver

Aurora, CO, January 29, 2010 – TMCA encourages everyone to Know Your Heart as part of Heart Month 2010.
To help people become more aware of their personal heart health, The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza is promoting awareness of how the heart works, and what people of all ages and health levels must do to better manage their heart health.
Starting in February, an educational display will travel throughout the Denver and Aurora areas.  This display shares critical information about how the heart works, healthy lifestyles and real-life stories of people affected by heart disease.  It also encourages people of all ages to get their heart score in order to know just how healthy they are given their personal risk factors.
“It’s easy to assume that you’re healthier than you really are,” says John Hill, president and CEO of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza.  “Unfortunately, we treat hundreds of patients each year that were completely surprised to discover they had heart disease.  Our goal is to help people become more aware and involved with their health in order to help prevent heart attack and stroke.”
Anyone can get their personal heart score by visiting  Information about healthy blood pressure levels, heart rate and other heart health information can also be found on this website.
