The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza One of "Best Places to Work"
Aurora, CO, Dec 2, 2010 - HealthONE’s The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza (TMCA) was named one of the Denver Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” for 2010. TMCA received the third highest score in the Mega Company category. Working with Quantum Workplace of Omaha, Neb., The Denver Business Journal evaluated applicant companies on their effectiveness in creating a positive work environment for employees. The evaluation included gathering employees’ opinions through an employee survey. Winners were selected based on employee measurement of 40 attributes known to drive employee engagement.
Questions were broken down into 10 categories: team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. “Best Places to Work” were separated in four categories based on size of the company as measured by its number of employees — mega (751 or more), large (251-750), medium (51-250) and small (10-50). A minimum of 10 employees was required to participate in the employee survey.
“We are very proud to be accepting the award. It is our employees’ professionalism and enthusiasm that has made our hospital a Magnet hospital and earned us top honors. We’re so pleased that our employees are dedicated, passionate, and committed to providing quality care,” said John Hill, president and CEO of The Medical Center of Aurora.
The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza is featured in the Nov. 19-25 issue of The Denver Business Journal profiling why employees enjoy TMCA. The Medical Center of Aurora article is also featured online.
