The Medical Center of Aurora Honored with Second Performance Award

Hospital Receives Award for Quality Improvement in Care of Stroke Patients

Aurora, CO, October 6, 2010 - HealthONE’s The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA) recently received the Get With The Guidelines (GWTG)-Stroke Silver Performance Achievement Award in addition to being awarded the GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award in August for cardiac and stroke care. The Silver Performance Award recognizes hospitals that have maintained a performance rate of 85 percent or better for one year in the ACTION Registry-GWTG program.

The ACTION Registry–GWTG-Stroke program empowers health care providers to improve treatment and care for stroke patients by consistently treating patients according to the most current, science-based guidelines. The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association provides the program.

The Medical Center of Aurora ACTION Registry–GWTG team will accept the award at the Get With The Guidelines Performance Award Recognition Ceremony, during AHA Scientific Sessions in Chicago, IL, Nov. 13-17.
