Nurses from Across the Globe Visit The Medical Center of Aurora During AORN Congress
On March 17, 2010, The Medical Center of Aurora Main Campus hosted 50 international perioperative nurse leaders, faculty, and executives for a tour of and presentation about the hospital. Countries represented by these nurse leaders included Taiwan, Finland, UK and China. Nurses were particularly interested to learn about the hospital's Magnet designation and our perioperative practices.

As more than 20 surgical nurses from across China toured the Medical Center of Aurora on Wednesday, they asked staff about multiple aspects of the hospital’s operation through a single interpreter.
The subjects of their questions ranged from robotic arms worth millions to the average stay of a patient in an intensive care unit...
Earlier in the day, the Medical Center of Aurora had played host to a group of 20 nursing delegates from Taiwan, Sweden, London and other international visitors. Julie Martin, vice president of surgical services at the Medical Center of Aurora, said the visits offered a valuable opportunity to showcase the center’s technology and detail its practices.
